Marble Master Bathroom in Cordillera Ranch

White marble wall tile with gold oval mirrors and brass faucets over double undermount sinks in Cordillera Ranch master bath

This master bathroom in a Cordillera Ranch estate home received a full tile renovation covering the vanity wall behind a double undermount sink. Large-format white marble-look porcelain tiles were installed in a stacked horizontal pattern, with the tile joints aligned to emphasize the wall's width. Because marble-look porcelain with strong veining requires careful orientation matching, we laid out all tiles dry before setting to align the vein direction consistently across the wall.

The white thinset mortar used here prevents any gray bleed-through beneath the lighter tile, which is a detail that matters with translucent or white-body tile. The finished wall ties naturally to the brass hardware and gold-framed oval mirrors selected by the homeowner.

What We Did

  1. Assessed and prepared the drywall substrate, adding cement backer board at the splash zone near the sink
  2. Dry-laid tiles on the floor to match vein direction and plan layout before any adhesive was applied
  3. Set tiles using white polymer-modified thinset with full back-buttering to prevent hollow spots
  4. Applied unsanded grout in a matching light tone and sealed the grout after full cure

A well-tiled vanity wall is one of those details that makes a master bathroom feel considered rather than just finished.
